none 與 no one / nobody 及 nothing的用法區別

no one / nobody 常用來指人，作主語時謂語動詞要用單數形式;nothing 常用來指物，作主語時謂語動詞也要用單數形式;none 可指人也可指物，作主語時，如和 of 連用指不可數名詞時，謂語動詞要用單數形式;指可數名詞時，謂語動詞用單、復數均可。如：

No one likes a person with bad manners.

Nothing is difficult in the world if you put your heart into it.

None of them has / have seen me before.

None of this money belongs to me.

注意：

1)、none 可與 of 連用表示范圍，而 no one / nobody 及 nothing 不可。

2)、none 可用來回答 How many / much…? 的特殊疑問句;而 no one / nobody 及 nothing 則分別用來回答 Who…? 和 What…? 的特殊疑問句。如：

— How many birds are there in the tree?

— None.

— What is in the box?

— Nothing.

— Who is in the classroom?

— No one / Nobody.

3)、none 可用來回答“ any + 名詞”構成的一般疑問句：而 nobody 和 nothing 則分別用來回答由 anybody 和 anything 構成的一般疑問句。如：

— Is there any bread left?

— No，none at all.

— Is there anything in the sky?

— No，nothing.

4)、none 可用來指代前面提到過的人或物;如無指代時可用 no one / nobody 及 nothing .如：

We had three cats once — none of them is alive now.

2. none 與 not all / all…not

not all / all…not 表示三者或三者以上的部分否定;而 none 表示三者或三者以上的全部否定。如：

Not all ads are good. 并非所有的廣告都好。

3. none but，nobody but 及 nothing but

nobody but 表示單一概念，謂語動詞用單數形式;none but 可指人也可指物，通常指前面提到的同一事物，謂語動詞要用復數形式; nothing but 泛指 but 后事物以外的任何事物。如：

Nobody but he is often late for school. 除他以外，沒有人上學常遲到。

None but fools have even believed it. 除了傻瓜，沒有人相信這一點。

There is a variety of fruit， but he chose nothing but an apple.

這兒有很多水果，但他只選了一個蘋果。

4. 其他用法

1 ) none 可指物質名詞或抽象概念，構成短語 have none of ，意為“不允許;不接受;拒絕參加”，常和 will / would 連用，表示意愿。如：

I will have none of your stupid ideas!

2 ) none other than 意為“就是;恰恰是”。如：

The new arrival was none other than the President.

1. neither用作形容詞，表示“(兩者)都不”，置于單數名詞之前。

Neither article is made in Beijing. 這兩種物品都不是北京制造的。

I will participate in neither game. 那兩項比賽我都不參加。

We discussed neither subject.這兩個問題我們都沒有討論。

提醒注意：在口語中以not... either...替換neither使用的情形也很多。例如：

They bought neither house. = They didn"t buy either house. 兩間房子他們都沒買。

2. neither用作代詞，表示“兩者都不，雙方均不”。例如：

He answered neither of the letters. 他兩封信都沒回。

She bought two toys, but neither can please the child. 她買了兩個玩具，卻沒有一個能讓小孩高興。

—Which one would you like? 你喜歡哪一個?

—Neither. 兩個都不喜歡。

此時，與neither用法較為接近的詞是none，但none的含義略有不同，none表示“(三者以上)所有的……都不”。例如：

None of us are perfect. 人無完人。

提醒注意：neither作主語時，通常被視為單數，但從意義上講也可視為復數。

Neither of the cars was / were damaged. 兩部車都沒有受損。

3. neither用作連詞，常用短語為neither...nor...，表示“既不……也不……”。例如：

Neither he nor I am well educated. 他和我都沒受過良好教育。

I have neither time nor money. 我既沒時間也沒錢。

The novel is neither realistic nor poetic.那部小說既不寫實也沒有詩意。

提醒注意：①neither和nor后面接同一詞性的單詞或短語。

②neither...nor...結構用作主語時，謂語動詞必須與nor后面的名詞或代詞在人稱及數上保持一致，即所謂的就近原則。

③在表示“既……也……”，即“兩者都……”時，常用短語both...and...;表示“或者……或者……”(即二者選一)時，常用短語either...or...。

4. neither用作副詞，作“也不”解釋，放在句首，表示前面否定的內容也適用于另一個人或物，句子須采用部分倒裝。此時也可用nor替換neither使用。

—Neither / Nor do I. 我也不喜歡。

If you don"t suppose the plan, neither / nor will I. 如果你不支持那項計劃，我也不支持。
